Combination Skin? It’s Confusing, But Fixable

This page is part of my Year 10 Personal Project, where I’m basically breaking down skincare so it actually makes sense for teens.

Combination skin is basically your face playing two different games at once.

If your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) is oily but your cheeks are dry… well this is for you🫶 .

It sounds annoying, but once you understand it, it’s actually not that complicated — you just need balance, not extremes. (Yk?)

01 - Cleanser

You don’t need anything fancy here.

Just use a gentle cleanser that cleans your skin without making it feel tight or stripped.

If your face feels super dry or super oily after washing, that’s your sign it’s too harsh.

02 - Moisturiser (the 50/50 part)

This is where combination skin gets tricky. Don't trip! :)

You want something lightweight enough for oily areas but still hydrating for your dry spots.

Basically — nothing too heavy, nothing too weak. Just in the middle.

03 - Sunscreen (non-negotiable)

Still needed. Always.

Just pick a light one so your T-zone doesn’t feel greasy halfway through the day.

04 - Things that mess it up

  • Using super heavy creams all over your face

  • Using drying products to “fix” oiliness

  • Treating your whole face like it’s the same skin type

  • "Its the same" No its not 🤦‍♀️

05 - Final Say

Combination skin isn’t “bad,” it’s just a bit mixed up.

Once you stop trying to force one routine on your whole face, it gets way easier to manage.
