This page is part of my Year 10 Personal Project, where I’m basically breaking down skincare so it actually makes sense for teens.

If your face gets shiny like 2 hours after washing it… yeah, you probably have oily skin. And if you get random breakouts for no reason? Also normal.

Before you panic — oily skin isn’t bad. Your skin is just doing a little too much when it comes to oil production. The goal isn’t to completely get rid of it (because you can’t), it’s just to keep things under control.

01 - Cleanser (Game changer frfr)

Wash your face in the morning and at night. That’s it.

You don’t need anything super harsh or “extra strength.” Those can actually make your skin worse because they dry it out too much… and then your skin produces even MORE oil.

So yeah — gentle cleanser equals win!

02 - Moisturiser

Sounds wrong eh? But oily skin still needs moisturiser.

Skipping it doesn’t make your skin less oily, it actually does the opposite. Your skin gets confused and produces more oil to make up for the dryness.

Just use something lightweight so it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy.

03 - Sunscreen

Icl, this is the step most people ignore… but it’s actually important.

It protects your skin and helps prevent long-term damage. (Unless you wanna end up all wrinkly when you become adult pro-max, sometimes even pro 😬)

If normal sunscreen feels gross, just go for a lighter one that doesn’t feel sticky.

04 - Things that will make it worse

  • Washing your face 5 times a day (pls don’t 😭)

  • Using a bunch of random products at once

  • Scrubbing your face like you’re trying to erase it

  • Touching your face all the time

  • Not removing your makeup b4 bed (for the girlies)

05 - Final Say

Oily skin can be annoying, but it’s really not that deep once you understand it.

Keep your routine simple, be consistent, and don’t fall for every trend you see online. Your skin doesn’t need 10 steps — it just needs the right ones. (You see the vision?)
